Coastal Residents Use Social Media To Help Hurricane-Hit Communities
After Superstorm Sandy swept past the coast, residents who avoided the worst of the destruction turned their attention to helping others. They used Facebook to reach out to friends — and quickly found their movement grew to include thousands of people. Now, two local women are coordinating efforts to help residents in Crisfield, and even farther beyond, in hard-hit communities to the north. They join Bryan Russo in studio to talk about the power of social media and the generosity of coastal residents in lending a helping hand during a crisis.
