Road Trip Off Route 50: Inside the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge (Rebroadcast)

December

2012

The tidal marshes of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge feel many miles away from the busy boardwalks of our region's beaches. Blackwater has been a sanctuary for wildlife for nearly 80 years — and is now home to one of the biggest populations of bald eagles on the East Coast. We'll check out the marshes and hike through a forest of loblolly pine trees as we continue our look at the historic, quiet, and unusual locales on the Eastern Shore.
